Calling All Croatian Catholics Worldwide!

In 2025, we celebrate 125 years since the Consecration of 160,000 Croatian youth to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This extraordinary event held on 22 June 1900, united young men and women from Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina in a unique act of devotion that resonated across the Catholic Church.

This anniversary is more than a commemoration; it is an opportunity to revive and strengthen our devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is an invitation to all Croatian Catholic faithful to draw inspiration from our past, to profess our faith, and to honour the enduring love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

STARTING ON FRIDAY 4 OCTOBER 2024 – Commit to participate in the NINE MONTH DEVOTION TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS, THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF FIRST FRIDAYS.

First Fridays – Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
This devotion comes to us from Jesus who in 1672 appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and revealed to her His Sacred Heart. Jesus especially asked that on the First Friday of each month, people go to Confession and receive Holy Communion, and that reparation be made for sins committed against His Sacred Heart and the Holy Eucharist.

Jesus gave us, through St. Margaret Mary, twelve promises for those who practice devotion to His Sacred Heart. Among these promises, Jesus made a specific promise related to the First Friday devotion:

“I promise you, in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the first Friday for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under My displeasure nor without receiving the sacraments; My Heart shall be their assured refuge at the last hour.”
— Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

In order to receive these graces:

  • The nine first Fridays must be consecutive. 
  • Confession
  • Attend Mass and receive Holy Communion
  • The nine First Fridays must be made in honour of and in
    reparation to Our Lord’s Most Sacred Heart.

The Consecration – June 2025:

On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in June 2025, come together for the consecration, by celebrating Holy Mass, praying the Consecration and singing the hymn from 1900 “Do nebesa nek se ori”. This will be a powerful reaffirmation of our faith, just as our ancestors did.

  • Commit to participate in 9-month Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: Starts on Friday 4 October 2024
  • Mark Your Calendar: Save the date for the consecration on Friday 27 June 2025. Note: Your priest may choose to have this held on Sunday 29 June 2025.
  • Spread the Word: Share this invitation with others.

Annual Pilgrimage Walk on the Feast of the Assumption – 2024

Join us on Thursday, August 15, 2024 for our 12th Annual Pilgrimage Walk in honour of Our Lady

August 15, is the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In Australia, it is a holy day of obligation.

On 1 November 1950, in the Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus Pope Pius XII declared the Assumption of Mary as a dogma:

By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and by our own authority, we pronounce, declare, and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma: that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.

PILGRIMAGE PROGRAM

  • Beginning with 11.30 am Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church (8 Diana Ave, Kellyville)
  • The walk starts from the Church 1pm sharp! (8 Diana Ave, Kellyville)
    Along Windsor Road to Parramatta Cathedral – 14km in total
  • First refreshment stop at St. Michael’s, Baulkham Hills – (approx 2.30pm)
  • Second refreshment stop at St. Monica’s, North Parramatta – (approx 4.30pm)
  • Finishing at Parramatta Cathedral with final prayer & readings – (approx 6pm)

The Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ

The Precious Blood of Our Lord is the charism of the Knights. According to the Traditional Catholic Calendar, July 1st is the Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This is an important feast day for us and it is most fitting that we attend Mass on this special day.

For this reason, you and your families are cordially invited to attend Holy Mass on Monday July 1st, 2024, beginning at 7pm, at the Maternal Heart of Mary parish, Charles O’Neill Way, Lewisham. Mass will be preceded by a Holy Hour at 6pm.

The Mass will be in Latin (the “Mass of all Ages”) so please wear your Sunday best; however, all are encouraged to wear Knight’s shirt or jacket too.

In preparation for the feast day we will be praying a novena to the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, which will commence Saturday June 22nd. The novena prayers is linked below; all are encouraged to participate in the novena.

As Croatian brothers in Christ, it’s time to break free from the chains of modern-day Pharaohs that entangle us—be it the endless scroll on social media, the numbing embrace of that extra drink, the pitfalls of sins of the eye, or the captivating world of Netflix, Stan, and YouTube. Our culture presents numerous obstacles to true unity with God, and Exodus 90 stands as a transformative journey towards liberation.

As we usher in a new year, many men often focus on resolutions pertaining to their physical well-being. However, it’s equally important, if not more so, to consider resolutions for our spiritual lives. Starting on the 1st of January, Exodus 90 offers a unique opportunity to make a commitment to progress in virtue and holiness, fostering a deeper connection with God as we navigate the challenges of the modern world.

What is Exodus 90?

Exodus 90 beckons you on a 90-day pilgrimage through the Book of Exodus, unravelling the parallels between our lives and the ancient Israelites’ journey and guiding us toward freedom from our contemporary ‘modern Pharaohs.’ Rooted in the wisdom of the early Church’s desert fathers, this spiritual exercise revolves around three pillars: prayer, asceticism, and fraternity.

Daily Silent Prayer: Dedicate one Holy Hour to silent prayer, Scripture reading, and reflections using the Exodus app.
Fasting and Abstinence: Wednesdays and Fridays mark days of fasting and abstaining from meat.
Cold Showers: Challenge yourself with invigorating cold showers.
Media Detox: Bid farewell to TV, movies, and televised sports for 90 days.
Weekly Fraternity Meetings: Connect with your fraternity of men to share experiences, challenges, and victories.
Daily Accountability: Check in with your Anchor, a chosen brother, on a daily basis.

Global Men’s Rosary Crusade – Preparation for Battle

The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is fast approaching on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Once again, the annual Global Men’s Rosary Crusade held on the first Saturday of October will fall on this feast day. There has never been a greater need or time to pray the Rosary of our Lady and to enter a prayer crusade. With the moral fabric of our society crumbling and with so many abandoning the faith, we need good men, courageous men who will join Our Lady and prayer for the conversion of souls and make reparation.

WHY PREPARE spiritually for the Global Men’s Rosary Crusade?

Speaking on the Devotion of the Rosary, Pope Leo XIII in the encyclical said:

“This devotion, so great and so confident, to the august Queen of Heaven, has never shone forth with such brilliancy as when the militant Church of God has seemed to be endangered by the violence of heresy spread abroad, or by an intolerable moral corruption, or by the attacks of powerful enemies”. (1st September, 1883)

As any good soldier or even athlete will tell you, you must prepare for any battle or event. St Paul tell us that like every athlete who trains for a race, we have to prepare our bodies for the spiritual battle, practicing self-control and subduing our bodily appetites so they don’t overrun us:

“Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win it. Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one. So I do not run aimlessly, nor do I box as though beating the air, but I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified.” (1 Cor 9:24-27)

We invite you all to join us in spiritual preparation, to prepare both in body and soul for this Global Rosary Crusade and great feast day. Just like the soldiers who boarded the ships in 1571 to man the Holy League of Nations, they prepared for battle under the instruction of Don Juan with fasting, confession, Mass and Rosary before the engaged the infidel in the Battle of Lepanto.

HOW TO prepare spiritually for the Global Men’s Rosary Crusade:

• Join us in praying the Novena to Our Lady of the Rosary   novena starts Sept 29th 
• Sacrament of Confession (first Friday of the month)
• Fast day before (October 6, 2023)
• Holy Mass (in the morning before the rosary)
• Daily recitation of the rosary

The battle is real and the enemies of Christ and the Church are on our doorsteps. We need to enter into this battle and we need to prepare. That is why we encourage you to participate in the good fight and prepare with our prayer initiatives this month, so that our recitation of the Rosary through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary will reach the her Son and Our Lord Jesus. Only the strength of common prayer and faith in the Lord will bring us good fruits.

Pope Leo XIII continues and encourages us to go out in force to piously recite the Rosary in public:

“Not only do we earnestly exhort all Christians to give themselves to the recital of the pious devotion of the Rosary publicly, or privately in their own house and family, and that unceasingly, but we also desire that the whole of the month of October in this year should be consecrated to the Holy Queen of the Rosary”.

Consecrate yourselves to Our Lady who will never fail you. Prepare for this crusade and great feast day. And have full confidence in her to obtain victory and to defeat the enemies of Christ and His Holy Catholic Church.

HOW TO PROMOTE THE MEN’S GLOBAL ROSARY CRUSADE

1. Approach your local parish priest to see if he can promote it to the men in your local parish; flyers attached (can be printed) and links to promo videos below.

2. Encourage other men to join us on the day, word of mouth is the most effective way.
